I overheard and witnessed these scenarios when I was on my way home from SDE today. It is an approximately 30 mins bus journey, happened in bus 188.
Scenario 1
A very young couple, a pretty gal and a good looking guy, scolded a old woman “神经病”. It was 7 plus, the passenger in the bus is extremely crowded, as usual. 有一个老婆婆，60-70岁左右，在这么拥挤的巴士乘客群中， 尝试挤进巴士较尾部的地方以方便她下车。我本来没怎么留意她，直到这位good looking 男生（当时站在我的附近）比较小声骂了一句“挤什么挤，神经病”， 随即他身边的漂亮女生(他女朋友）竟然大声破口大骂这位婆婆，“要挤进去也要先让人下车，神经病”。 唉，什么世界？这对年轻人样貌长得那么好看，却不懂得守口德。这位婆婆即使真的那么不对，也没有必要在那么多人面前说人家（还是老人家呀）神经病。也许没多少人听到男的骂这婆婆，可是那女的，那么大声，我可以肯定，前面3-4排的乘客一定听得到。人长得漂亮，心里却那么恶毒~ 唉~~
Scenario 2
The next incident, is about a mother and daughter. 妈妈一上车，手里捧着一盆很独特的植物，女儿手上另外拿着比较小盆的。一上车， 妈妈跟女儿说,"你那盆比较贵的，给我拿好好，回去要是死了， 我就打死你。” 汗！死了一棵植物，就要打死女儿的吗？虽然我明白妈妈不是真的那个意思，可是，在这么多人面前，这么训骂女儿，我听了都觉得可怕。 很多妈妈都是这样说话，可是没人想过女儿听了会怎么样想..当时的我，只觉得，这妈妈看颗植物都比女儿重，唉~！妈妈跟女儿的对话，还不止这些。 更吓人的，妈妈对女儿说：“刚才那个女人真的很笨，（不是指巴士乘客，也许是她们较早前遇到的某个女人）一开口就问这植物能吃吗？真是笨， 讲话又粗鲁，满嘴粗口，真让人讨厌”， 然后妈妈又继续跟女儿说：“还好我也厉害， 我就讽刺她说你吃下去试试就知道了。 最好有毒，毒哑她更好，她讲话那么讨厌，有没人想跟她说话...” 这种话也能跟女儿这么说的么？？ 女儿要是还小，不懂得分什么是好是坏，这妈妈就这么误导女儿杀人了.. 你再不喜欢这个人也好， 不要在女儿面前说这种话。开口就说出这么恶毒的话，还能教什么好东西给孩子？需知道， 小孩子很多时候都是向父母学习的。。
Scenario 3
This scenario, it happens very often especially in the peak hours, where everyone try their best to squeeze into the bus. 有个情侣，不懂是不是就坐在巴士前段，所以选择在巴士前门下车（注意：新加坡都是前门上车，后门下车）最让人惊讶的， 是那个男的， 竟然破口大骂：“人家还没下车，你们这些人那么急着上车，有没有搞错！？” 真的骂的很大声的！ 前门下不了，那就去后门下呀，需要骂的么？？真是很莫名其妙啊？再说，下车本应该就从后门下的啊？
It's only a 30 mins bus journey, but a lot of things happen. They all speak chinese, so i type chinese also lor. easier for you all to understand the scenario. I must say, really disappointed to see all these things happen. It's a public transport. what do you expecT? you want to take the bus, other people want it too. It's a peak hour summore, the crowd is of course a lot. The fact that there are other passenger in the bus will not change, but you can always change your attitudes towards other passengers. Be more considerate. before you start scolding people in such public spaces, think about how other ppl will look at you after you scold. also think about how people feel after getting scold by you in front of so many people. May be some people just don't care.. =) it reminds me of the hong kong bus passenger (famous in youtube may be 1 or 2 years ago). Too stress? Maybe? hahaha.. hope I won't be one of them in the future. These are some of the things you might not know about Singapore society.
Woots, I'm shortlisted...
Just want to let you guys know that I'm shortlisted for a sales position in Far East Organization. The finalize details of the job offer will sent to me by this week.
Now, its time to start thinking about whether I want to accept the job or not. I'm really not too sure of it. Should I accept it? It is not something that I wanted.. but given the poor economic condition, should i accept the job offer?
I never work in real estate sales before, not really sell a house before. Should I give it a try? But It is not something that i want lei... HOW?!!? =( Sadness~
Start to think now~~~~~~! Urggh!

My first and second interviews
I have my first interview on Monday, 9 Mar 09. It is an interview offer by Far East Organization, one of the singapore local developer for a position in property sales. I was interviewed by Jimmy, a guy who is also in sale team I supposed. Surprisingly, he only ask me 3 main questions:
1. Tell me about yourself.
2. Why do you want to work for Far East?
3. What do you know about Far East?
Of course, these are the three main one. He did ask what am I doing right now, where I come from, etc, (those minor minor one). But I'm really quite surprised the interview is that short, with only 3 main questions and last for about 10-15mins. I've gave my best to try to prove to him that I can handle the job. Haha, it's a sales job anyway. Meanings I have to sell houses, meeting sales target. After the 3 questions, he told me more about the job responsibilities, like have to work long hours, have to work on holidays/weekends, etc.
The next day (Tues), I got a call from Far East again, inviting me for second interview. I was quite shocked. I thought the first interview was so short that I didn't really leave any good impressions. Anyway, I had my second interview today. It is much longer this time. I must say, today interview is much harder than the first one. It's a lady this time, and she is from sales team. First thing she said, "I need to be very clear with you what this job is all about." She talked to me in very serious manner. She mentioned 4 key things, and ask if I'm ready for the job. I was not really prepare actually.. was damn nervous..
1. She say sales job, means you have sales target to meet. Selling the house and meet the sales target.
2. She will only ask me everyday how to get to the customer and close the deal. In fact, she say, if you are keen in sales, you should have start thinking how are u going to close a sales deal in first month.
3. She say,"you have to work on holidays and weekends. Your day off is in weekdays, and if a customer called u on offdays and wanted to visit showflats, I'm expecting you to bring the customer. DO not tell me that its your off days. Your social life is also going to be different, your friends might work 5 days, off on weekend, you don't expect yourself to join them. Are you ready for that?"
4. She say, I should look professional. haha. because I'm young, house buyer might not easily trust you. It doesn't mean that I have to look old, but she meant professional. =/
Frankly speaking, during the interview, of course I presented myself as if I want the job so badly. Deep inside my heart, i know this job is not meant for me. I'm seriously think and thought about it. I can do sales, but I don't want to. Sales always involve a lot of self-conflict. Doing something or saying something that against your will, but you have to close the deal for company. I think lying is not the correct word, but more towards hiding or not mentioning the bad side of the truth. Sometimes, just because you are hiding the such negative "facts", and presenting only the "glory" facts, will cause someone making wrong purchase decision. Just don't feel like doing something like that, something that is against my will. Not that I'm kind hearted or whatever, sometimes, I feel wrong for doing so.
I will seriously consider about the job offer by far east, if I got it. =/ Most likely I won't go for it.
